THE FRIENDSHIP UPDATE pt.2

I’ve been thinking again about that 💜~*~Friendship Update~*~💜 for RDO that I talked about a while ago. Here’s a recap for anyone who missed that first post:

The Friendship Update adds many obviously much-needed features, including but not limited to:

The ability to tackle other members of your posse to the floor without doing them any damage and without the risk of accidentally strangling them or beating them to death!

The ability to wrestle them instead of strangling/beating/stabbing them!

A whole suite of new emotes that you can only use with friends!

Hug your friend!

Kiss your friend!

Throw an apple at the back of your friend’s head when they’re not looking!

Letters that you can send to your friends at the post office! Create a message from a list of preset words and phrases and send it away for them to pick up the next time they’re online!

Include a gift! If it’s small enough to fit in your pocket, it can fit into an envelope! 

Let your friend know you care with a letter that just says “PISS SKELETON” and a single worm!

New emotes specifically to use on your horse and/or dog! Because they’re your friends too and are equally deserving of kisses!

And much, much more!

There is a GAPING VOID in this game where these features should be! It is a fucking TRAVESTY that I can’t hug my friends, or kiss them, both of which I should rightly be able to do WHENEVER I WANT!

LET ME KISS MY FRIENDS, ROCKSTAR. WHAT ARE YOU AFRAID OF.

I had a new friend join me and my usual buddy in the Barbie Horse Adventures the other night and I was reminded of how you can only usually hug your friends if you’re drunk, and I think that’s very sad. I should be able to hug my friends whether I’m drunk or not! In the same vein as the Drunk Player Interactions™, I feel like there should be interaction options whenever you and your posse aren’t in combat, e.g.:

Hug It Out

Kiss Your Brother

Kiss Your Lover

... and when someone comes at you with one of those, you ought to be able to respond with something like:

Yes (to hug/kiss back)

No (to shove your friend away)

I Said No (to stab your friend in the neck; unblockable, instant kill)

Being able to stab someone in the neck and kill them dead regardless of your posse’s friendly fire status would make RDO better than real life in many ways, I think.

You should also be able to do a running tackle and jump on your friends at any time outside of combat! (The Yes/No/I Said No options would also apply here.) It’s fucking criminal that you can’t get into horseplay with your buddies without punching them to death or otherwise executing them. We need to fix that. It’s also bullshit that you can’t, like, play cards or dominoes with them at your camp.

Anyway, I emailed Rockstar with these ideas and I absolutely do not expect them to get back to me.
